    Getting My Hands Dirty

    By jorsillo | March 10, 2010

I spent today ‘processing’ some of my recently shot Fuji FP-100 film. After a little experimentation I think I finally got the process down. Its relatively simple: strip the black backing from the negative with bleach, rinse in cold water, fixer bath for three minutes, wash in cold water, dip in photoflo solution then hang to dry. Next up, scanning the film, a whole different ball of wax thats presents its own challenges.

The Fuji print and uncleared negative.

Bleach doing a number on the black backing.

    Washing off the mess.

I haven't used chemistry in years!

    Chilling in the fixer bath.

The final product air drying. Its a little thin as far as negatives go, but definitely printable.

    More to come…
